Kellie believes that the individual States Rights have the authority to determine most issues, not the Federal Government.
Kellie believes it is up to the people and the voters to decide what happens in their community and that the State and National Chamber of Commerce do not have the best interest of the local community at the core of their agenda.
Kelliebelieves that the Right to Property is another uniquely American concept and will fight to reform Civil Asset Forfeiture so no one will have their assets seized prior to being convicted of a crime. It is unconstitutional and unethical for any entity, agency, or court to seize any property of an American UNLESS and UNTILthe owner of the property has been chargedand convictedof a felony that is directly related to the property in question. Unfortunately, this issue has been allowed to continue unchecked and American citizens are having their property stolen by the government in the name of justice. This must stop.
Kellie believes our economy will thrive when we get government out of the way. She will sponsor legislation similar to that passed by 24 other states to enable cultivation of agricultural hemp to allow our farmers to once again regain the position we held a century ago as a national leader in the production of agricultural hemp and for our manufacturing to lead this industry. We cannot allow our neighboring states to get ahead of us in this industry.
Eliminate or Reform Certificate of Need (CON) to expand access to health care in Georgia.
Promote civic involvement by introducing Term Limits for all county elected officials. Society has changed. Just as we no longer link the right to vote with the payment of taxes or the ownership of property, we must continue to reform the system by encouraging civic involvement through limiting how many terms one person can continue to hold the same elected or appointed office in local government. Unfortunately, incumbency has become a virtual guarantee for re-election. This eliminates almost all competition and discourages civic involvement, while increasing cronyism and insider deals and negotiations.
State Income Tax
Kellie OPPOSES the recent effort to impose 30 year SPLOSTS across the state which would handcuff future generations for poor spending decisions today.
Kellie believes that our economy requires constant vigilance and the best way to ensure a level playing field and economic success is to allow folks to control their own business and their own money. She believes that raising taxes is never the answer for strengthening our economy.
Kellie will fight to reform our tax structure and to reform or repeal our State Income Tax to ensure we remain competitive among our neighboring states.
More Personal Freedom
Right to Life
Right to Bear Arms
Kellie believes that you and your doctor should make medical decisions for you and your children, not the government. Kellie will fight to expand legal access for medical cannabis (Low THC) for Autism, PTSD, AIDS, Alzheimer's, along with all others who would benefit from this non-addictive, non-invasive, alternative treatment. As President Trump has stated, this issue should be determined by the State, Kellie will also fight to ensure patients can legally access the treatment that is legally allowed.
Currently, Georgia law requires these patients and parents to commit a felony to cross state lines with the very medication that Georgia law has legalized. This is a ridiculous conundrum and it is hypocritical that our government has not yet corrected this injustice.
Kellie believes that all life is precious and we must continue to fight to protect this fundamental and inalienable right. Kellie is Certified Pro-Life by the Georgia Life Alliance (the state entity of the National Right to Life) for her unwavering support for all human life. Kellie supports strengthening alternatives for adoption to provide real alternatives for the young mother who is not ready for the life-long responsibility of being a parent.
Kellie supports the Fetal Pain Bill which would protect the unborn from experiencing the torture of an abortion procedure after 20 weeks gestation, based on empirical scientific evidence of when an unborn feels pain.in the Right to Life and that life begins at conception. As a community we must continue to be a voice and an advocate for our most vulnerable, whether that is an unborn child or a victim of rape or one with special health and education needs. Kellie will fight for the littlest of these with no personal agenda or strings attached.
Kellie believes that the Right to Bear Arms is foundational to a free society, and intrinsic to our Right to Liberty. While violence of all kinds will continue here on earth, that the answer is never weakening the Second Amendment or restricting non-criminals access to guns. No nation before or since the founding of America has been founded upon these principles of Liberty, no other nation continues to protect this liberty. Any attempt to undermine the Right to Bear Arms is an attempt to undermine our Constitution and the very fabric of America.
People kill people. Guns, knives, bombs, cars, and planes are inanimate objects. Kellie will fight to protect our Second Amendment rights, as well as the right for citizens not to be accused of a crime unless a crime is committed.
Kellie will fight to protect the First Amendment Rights of all our students on school campuses.
Kellie supports solutions to expand educational choices for parents and children. We must reduce class size and allow our teachers to teach without fear of reprisal based on student test scores.
