Kellie Austin has spent her life working to help recruit, train and elect men and women of character to office in Georgia. Now she is the candidate. Kellie is running for an open State House seat in Gwinnett County because she will not give up her own district to a someone with an opposing agenda without a fight.
Kellie believes in Limited Government, Lower Taxes and More Personal Freedom. She believes that the closer to home the decision is made, the better.
Kellie believes that the individual States Rights have the authority to determine most issues, not the Federal Government.
Kellie believes it is up to the people and the voters to decide what happens in their community and that the State and National Chamber of Commerce do not have the best interest of the local community at the core of their agenda.
Kellie believes in the Right to Life and that life begins at conception. As a community we must continue to be a voice and an advocate for our most vulnerable, whether that is an unborn child or a victim of rape or one with special health and education needs. Kellie will fight for the littlest of these with no personal agenda or strings attached.
Kellie believes that the Right to Bear Arms is foundational to a free society, and while violence of all kinds will continue here on earth, that the answer is never weakening the Second Amendment or restricting non-criminals access to guns. People kill people. Guns, knives, bombs, cars, and planes are inanimate objects. Kellie will fight to protect our Second Amendment rights, as well as the right for citizens not to be accused of a crime unless a crime is committed.
Kellie believes that the Right to Property is another uniquely American concept and she will fight to reform Civil Asset Forfeiture, which has become a direct threat against this right. She believes that no one has the right to seize the property of any American unless and until the owner of the property has been charged and convicted of a felony that is directly related to the property in question.
Kellie believes our economy will thrive when we get government out of the way. She will sponsor legislation similar to that passed by 24 other states to enable cultivation of agricultural hemp to allow our farmers to once again regain the position we held a century ago as a national leader in the production of agricultural hemp and for our manufacturing to lead this industry. We cannot allow our neighboring states to get ahead of us in this industry.
Kellie believes that our economy requires constant vigilance and the best way to ensure a level playing field and economic success is to allow folks to control their own business and their own money. She believes that raising taxes is never the answer for strengthening our economy.
Kellie will fight to reform our tax structure and to lower the State Income Tax. She OPPOSES the recent effort to impose 30 year SPLOSTS across the state which would handcuff future generations for poor spending decisions today.
Kellie believes that you and your doctor should make medical decisions for you and your children, not the government. She believes we must expand legal access to medical CBD to all those who would benefit from this non-addictive, non-invasive, alternative treatment. As President Trump has stated, this issue should be determined by the State, thus we must allow in-state cultivation for medical CBD to protect our families from committing a federal crime to transport across state lines.
Kellie is a woman of faith and believes that elected office is a calling to a life of service for a believer, not dissimilar to a call to missions. Evil prevails when good men do nothing, and our society decays when people of faith cease active, consistent involvement.
